  • STEP 1. Simply click the displayed "CHOOSE FILE" button to view the files on your computer's hard drive, floppy drive or digital camera.

    STEP 2. Select the image file you wish to upload and click 'UPLOAD IMAGE' button. Your image will upload into the file uploader where you can edit the image if needed.

    STEP 3.  Adjust your image, crop and rotate to fit into the area for the puzzle.  Click the checkmark when you are satisfied.  Click the disk icon to SAVE your work.  

    STEP 4. Check to see that your photo image has been uploaded by looking for a file number near the Choose File button.

    STEP 5. Now just click the "Add to Cart" button for the product you desire, and your photo will automatically be uploaded to our production servers and electronically attached to your order.

    Extra Options for Your Puzzle

    White Backing:

    The "regular" backing on our puzzle board is a light gray color. We purchase a specialized board that is thicker than most and features a lighter color. The board is 100%, recycled board. We provide the opportunity, on some of our puzzles, to add a white backing for an additional fee. This backing is a white coating that is applied on the back of the board.

    Numbering:

    While we cannot number all of our puzzle offerings, we can number some. If available, we hand number our puzzles on the back and in the bottom right-hand corner. We use several different writing utensils to achieve this. We will number most puzzles in pencil, in the bottom right-hand corner with the numbers facing you. We may number puzzles with a pen if they have the optional white backing, or if you have ordered multiple puzzles so you can differentiate between the puzzles. Which writing utensil is completely up to The Missing Piece Puzzle Company, LLC's choice.

    How To Write On The Puzzle:

    We recommend that on a standard puzzle, with the exception of our Cowboy Boot Puzzle, with a natural backing that you write with a medium ball point pen (sold separately). We recommend either medium ball point pens or Sharpie Markers (sold separately) for our puzzles that have a white coating, either front or back. On our Boot puzzle, we recommend a medium ball point pen, as the covering is vinyl. Contact us prior to ordering for recommendations.

    How long will it take to process an order?

    Generally, orders are processed within 1-3 business days and shipped fast. This time may vary during any Holiday or at various times during the year, such as Graduation time, etc.  Need it fast?  Simply email us your request and we will see what we can do.  We are Made in America!

    We will attempt to accommodate URGENT orders, simply contact us and we will do our best to help you.

    How do you ship?

    We send our puzzles out either USPS First Class Mail or USPS Priority mail with tracking. If you order in bulk we ship via USPS Ground.

    Shipping times are generally one to a few business days within the Continental United States, depending on time of year. Please check the shipping times with www.USPS.com, as we mail from New Jersey. Our company is very confident in the USPS system and we have had much success shipping with the USPS.

    • We are not responsible for delivery times, as we do not drive the mail truck but we will do everything within our power to assure you fast delivery!
    • We are also not responsible for lost or damaged packages, so please be sure to include the proper address.
    • Shipping for returned puzzles due to the incorrect addresses is the responsibility of the customer, so please be sure that you have the proper address.
    • We reserve the right to ask for additional shipping charges to resend a puzzle that was incorrectly/improperly addressed.
    Can I ship my puzzle to another address?

    Absolutely. You will be able to ship to another address during the checkout process.
    Please enter the proper address, as we are not responsible for lost items due to incorrect addresses. Please see above for more information.  One address per order.

    How do I know when you receive my order?

    You will receive an automatic email after your order has been placed with your order number and invoice. We require a valid email so that you receive this information and can contact you with any difficulties with your photo submission or order. It's important to note that some email services may screen emails and our confirmation email may go to you SPAM folder. Please add us to your address book to avoid this.

    Sales tax is collected for orders shipped to New Jersey at 7%.

    International orders, we ship USPS First Class International Mail without tracking. Please feel free to ask questions prior to ordering, as we do not accept returns on items.

    • We collect postage that simply covers our cost of shipping and handling from the United States via USPS First Class International Mail.
    • We DO NOT collect for any other duties or fees. All customs duty fees and taxes are the responsibility of the buyer. Customs duties, taxes, VAT, brokerage fees, or tariffs could be applied to your package at the discretion of your local customs officers or post office and we have absolutely no control over this, nor do we know how much will be collected from you.
    • We also do not have any control over customs or the packages that they may randomly inspect, and cannot guarantee that your puzzle will or will not be subject to searches through customs. We can tell you that our puzzles that we ship no more likely to be inspected than any other package.

    Please feel free to ask questions prior to ordering, as we do not accept returns on items. It is important to note that undeliverable packages or packages that go unclaimed by the customer will not be refunded. We reserve the right to charge for additional shipping should your package return to us. We also reserve the right to refuse returns. Any package sent back to us without express written permission will result in it being treated as abandoned property.

    Return & Refund Policy

    Due to the personalized nature of our business and our products, we do not accept returns on any of our Puzzle items. Simply stated, we cannot resell your family photographs! Please be sure to adhere to the requirements of photo uploads and email us prior to ordering.

    Blank White Puzzles for special events and each puzzle is made at the time of order. We cannot reshelve these puzzles and do not accept returns. Once the puzzle leaves our facility it is rendered as a USED item and will not be accepted for return or exchange.Please be sure to review all information prior to ordering.

If you are uploading a photo from a cell phone, please be sure to transfer the file in its highest resolution.  For example, on the IPhone, please transfer the file as "Actual Size".  Most files are compressed when transferred, leading to a loss of clarity and resolution. Transferring at the highest setting will provide better results.

Please note the following:

Uploading Image 
Files must be 20MB or smaller and jpeg format. The upload time will depend on the file size and your Internet connection speed. Please be patient when uploading a large image.

Please try to use the best-quality image possible.

Uploading from Cell Phone  
If you are uploading a photo from a cell phone, please be sure to transfer the file in its highest resolution.  For example, on the IPhone, please transfer the file as "Actual Size".  Most files are compressed when transferred, leading to a loss of clarity and resolution. Transferring at the highest setting will provide better results.

Best Size for Image
Depending on print area and size of your photo, minimum photo size requirements will vary. For best print quality your photo needs to be at 300 dpi. For example, if your photo is 3000 x 2400 pixels in size, it will print best at 10 x 8 inches or smaller.

Our photo editing process will inform you if your image is below minimum size.

Low-Quality Image
If your image is below the minimum resolution/size requirements, do not simply increase the size in your editing software. You must either rescan the image or use a higher-quality image.

Older Generation Phone Cameras
Please note that most older generation phone cameras will produce photos of very low quality that are too small for print reproduction. Photos downloaded from Facebook are also of lower quality.

Scanning Photographs
When scanning in photographs, please use a resolution of 300 dpi or more. When taking digital images, set your camera at the highest possible resolution. You can always reduce the resolution later. Low-resolution images cannot be increased without loss of image quality.

Cropping of Image
Your image will be reproduced as it appears. In some cases, we may crop the image for size, to fit the product you order. Close-ups and images with bright colors will produce the best results.
